Have just watched the Alan Titchmarsh Show clip of Alan Titchmarsh, Julie Peasgood and Kelvin MacKenzie having a rant about video games to CVG editor Tim Ingham.
Despite Mr Ingham’s efforts to put these 3 “presenters” right, all we got was the usual Daily Mail style rant about them glorifying violence, making kids aggressive and MacKenzie being concerned about a tsunami of violent kids in a few years time.
Glorifying violence Kelvin? The same editor of the peace loving Sun that produced the “Gotcha” headline when an Argentinian ship was sunk during the Falklands War & over 300 seamen lost their lives? The same man in charge when the Hillsborough disaster happened?
And talking of hypocrisy, it appears sweet Ms Julie Peasgood (“I’m categorically against violence for entertainment”) did a voice-over for a video game in 2000 called “Martian Gothic” – a game in which some of the characters feast upon human flesh. So that’s okay then.
If I was you Alan I’d stick to pushing up daisies!
